Hey, Dreamer — It’s nice to meet you!
Hi! I’m Abby, a 2:52 marathoner, running coach, boy mom, and military wife. Coaching is my dream job! I love getting to be a small part of my athlete’s journeys and seeing them succeed at their goals. I have been coaching since 2017 - first in the NCAA at D1 programs where I coached both men’s and women’s distance teams and now as an online running coach for dozens of clients who want to elevate their running experience and reach big goals! Our team is for all runners who are looking for guidance, encouragement, and expertise as they pursue their running dreams. I created Daydreamer Running to give runners access to an affordable, holistic coaching program.

— Caroline
“Abby has completely transformed my running - I began as a 4 hour marathoner, now I’ve run a 2:38. She is a wealth of knowledge, balancing hard work and fun ever so wonderfully. She cares, more than just a coach, she’s also a friend. She meets you where you are at and sees the person behind the runner. Abby believes in her athletes, causing us to dream bigger, push harder, and reach goals we never thought possible. I’ve worked with Abby for three years, and as long as I’m running, I want her on my team!”

Great question! I believe 1:1 coaching is the best way to get the most out of your running. It’s a collaborative process. I will check in with you each week to see how things are going, how your workouts felt, etc. and get feedback from you. Your next week of training is posted on Sunday nights and you are free to text or email with any questions you might have! I also like to have pre- and post-race calls with athletes to chat through logistics, any nerves or questions, and set a race plan. 1:1 coaching is all about your own unique journey and helping you succeed in ways that are sustainable and keep the fun in training. Most athletes choose to stay for years, and my goal is to develop long term relationships with athletes. It’s why I don’t sell standard PDF plans - I truly believe that the best kind of coaching comes with time and not a basic 12-week plan. While you can choose to stay through just one training block, I ask athletes to commit to the process for at least 6 months (but you are free to cancel or pause at any time).

Coaching costs $175 per month and is automatically billed on the first of every month. There is a great deal of flexibility! I often have athletes take months off for travel/pregnancy/etc. and you will not be billed for months where you are not getting training plans.

While there are many great methods of coaching out there, I like to think of my coaching as both science and art. Sure, there are great books, courses, and studies that delve into the physiological principles of exercise and adaptations, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years of coaching, it’s that no athlete can be put into a box. Good training for one athlete may not work for the next one. I like to get to know my athletes beyond running and find out what else they have in their lives. Great running is often about many things other than just the day-to-day training. It’s why I only offer one tier of coaching - all in. I want every one of my athletes to enjoy their journeys, and I’m not good at not being involved with how things are going.
You can expect to see a lot of foundational strength work before we add anything else on top. The basics are great for a reason, and most athletes respond well to stacking foundational blocks, strength work, mobility, and nutrition before we adjust mileage or intensity a lot. We have a very low injury rate among the group. While almost everyone will face an injury for one reason or another throughout their running journey, there are lots of ways to adapt, learn, and grow through them, and we discuss how to navigate your options as part of coaching. I can also make referrals to excellent virtual PT’s, chiropractors, and other medical professionals if needed. My life was personally changed by the amazing coaches I had during college and afterwards. I hope through coaching to help others as much as I’ve been helped. Let’s get to work, dreamers!

No! We all start somewhere and besides, fast is subjective :)
I coach a variety of runners at a variety of paces. The most important thing is that you enjoy the process of getting better!
